The Pedestal Leg Table Lamp is made from an original earthenware peg leg that supported a pedestal sink in its past life. A truly old utilitarian object, repurposed into a classic table lamp. Purchase as a pair or as individual lamps. One interesting fact about vintage and antique bathroom fixtures is, that manufacturer’s would date stamp their product with the made date and any held patents. These particular peg legs are date stamped October 13, 1926.
These sconces are made from rare antique plumbing parts repurposed into a new life. Porcelain shower mixer valves make up the base while a vintage faucet becomes the arm of the sconce. Shades are included and are custom designed for these fixtures. Mixer valve plates were first introduced in hospitals and later in fine hotels before appearing in homes in the 1900’s. It’s the mechanism that mixed hot and cold water to your desired temperature.
Flashcards may be a thing of the past but when my mother-in-law gave me her tools of the teaching trade I was captivated by the simplicity yet vibrant drawings and colors on the vintage Milton Bradly cards. I have collected them ever since. Shades are not only decorative but learning tools for children. Our Shades have been professionally constructed here in the U.S. and made from vintage 1960’s Milton Bradly Alphabet Flash Cards. Each is unique. Measures 5” square x 8” tall.
